DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL: Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I heard one of the ubiquitous blondes on Fox, talking like the stereotypical blonde, quote this phrase - "If you can't say anything nice, don'e say anything at all" - advice from her mother. What ridiculous nonsense - the Jews tried not saying anything defamatory about the Nazis and history tells us what resulted from not standing up to evil. If you need to say something, say it - if someone thinks it's a "bad" thing to say, then let that be their problem. Think for a moment what would have happened if Trump's supporters had avoided proclaiming that Hillary Clinton was a liar, a crook, and that she had betrayed the country through Clinton Foundation "sales" to foreign countries who were betting on favors from her presidency. If those courageous supporters had remained silent, we would now be faced with ongoing political policies seriously contributing to efforts to dismantle the remaining freedoms of the United States, through the open borders and globalization ploys, among others. What country that respects itself as a country has open borders - I defy anyone to name even one. All countries patrol and protect their borders - the South American countries all have "manned" borders - military personnel carrying high-powered rifles and machine guns to deter anyone trying to enter illegally. That's quite a contest to some in our country, major politicians included, enthusing about open borders.
So, if something bothers you, say something about it - Let's start to breathe life and open interactions back into this country. A country which, unlike any other, has fought hard to ensure the rights of free expression for its citizens. Speaking up about something that you think is wrong is psychologically healthy, for starters. And, for another, it is your distinct right as a citizen of the United States. "If you see something, say something" is unequivocally a better approach to a healthy culture and to healthy members of that culture than remaining silent.
