In the July, 2017 LEAD-ZINE we talk about the importance of independence and the expression of that independence for leaders of corporations. Wal-Mart, a company that's known for its historical independence, recently exerted its independence anew by telling its vendors that if they want Wal-Mart's business, they can't run their applications serving Wal-Mart on Amazon.Com's cloud computing service, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Makes perfect sense - Amazon is one of the company's biggest rivals. Other large retailers have also made similar requests of service companies to move away from AWS, seeing similar conflicts of interest.
